Class of 87: El Camino/Caballero?

Did we miss one? Our last article covered the new class of classic cars. There is one that according to Hemmings motor news should be considered even though it clearly lacked a powerplant that would appeal to any classic car purist. Hemmings states “Engine choices in 1987 for Chevrolet and GMC were a 145hp V-6 or a 150hp V-8″. Personally I can see why the El Camino/Caballero would be a big hit in Southern California. It represents the perfect surf mobile. However, til this day I’m still not really sure if it’s a car, truck or both! Enjoy this GM commercial that takes us back in time 25 years.
